Adaptive Dance at GWDC!

"Our son has been taking adaptive dance from GWDC for the past four years and has continued to improve and excel each year. The dance instructor takes specialized training and each year elevates the class to the next level. Our son has been challenged to bring his best self but also given the flexibility that is sometimes needed. Some days are great and other days can be a challenge for our son - but at GWDC he is welcome, accepted, and supported. Our son has learned greater bodily control, independence, core strength, and direction following skills from this class. He has formed meaningful friendships with his fellow classmates which has made the experience even richer for us. The accepting environment created and fostered by the GWDC staff and volunteers is truly unique and a game changer in my family’s life. "
We love adaptive dance! Our daughter loves coming every week and her classmates are some of her greatest friends. She loves music and learning new routines. The recital at the end of the year is always her favorite. Performing in front of friends and family and the beautiful costumes! Dance is one of her favorite activities! Thank you all!!

GWDC is very pleased to offer creative movement and dance instruction for children with special needs such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism. Students can explore in a safe and supported studio environment as they develop mobility, musicality, personal and social growth. This class is patterned after the wildly successful Adaptive Dance Program created and offered by the Boston Ballet. The class will be guided by Bronwyn Dean, certified by the Boston Ballet and Early Childhood Specialist. Each class will offer a low ratio of assistant leaders to children. The children will explore movement and musicality in a supported studio environment. The class size is limited. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis so please enroll early!
