The Festival Ballet Virginia's performances of the Nutcracker are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21, 2024 at the NOVA Community College Ernst Community Theatre in Annandale, Virginia. All students ages 5 and up, who are fully enrolled at the Greater Washington Dance Center are encouraged to audition! Auditions will be held on Saturday, September 7 at the following times: 5 and 6 year olds - 1:00PM 7 and 8 year olds - 2:00 PM 9 year olds and up - 3:00 PM PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:
All rehearsals will be held on Saturdays beginning September 21 until the show. It is imperative that your child be available for rehearsal every Saturday between 1 and 6PM. Most children will rehearse for 1 -2 hours each Saturday. It will be impossible to work around everyone’s schedule. We will not schedule around other activities such as soccer. No exceptions. Additionally, there is a participation fee of $250 to cover costumes, theatre and staffing costs. All participating dancer families will be expected to contribute volunteer hours towards the production. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on September 21 (Time TBD) to go over parent volunteer expectations and to answer questions. | ||
